Time . . . The Most Precious Gift
Thank you for considering our volunteer opportunities at La Palma Intercommunity Hospital. Our primary mission is to care for the needs of the whole person body, mind and spirit. The efforts of our dedicated volunteers help maintain the quality of services and make each patient's stay more enjoyable.
Whether it's helping a patient or family member, or capably assisting our staff with clerical duties, each volunteer brings a special talent to our hospital. While each person's reason for volunteering may be different, all volunteers have a common desire: to share their love and concern with others.
Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone who can give the gift of time can volunteer. Our volunteers come from all walks and stages of life: homemakers, professionals, students and retirees.
New volunteers receive a comprehensive hospital orientation and, to meet State requirements, a tuberculosis screening is provided through our Laboratory. All volunteer hours are recorded and awards are given annually to honor those who generously donate their time and talents. Our volunteers receive a free meal while on duty. It's just an extra way for us to say, 'Thank you!'
